EnvisionTEC Desktop Family

The EnvisionTEC Desktop family includes the Vida, Vida Hi-Res, Aureus Plus, Apollo Plus and Desktop XL Plus 3D printers. These are industrial-grade desktop 3D printers that use advanced Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology. DLP uses a high-definition projector, as opposed to a laser as with SLA, to achieve extreme accuracy. EnvisionTEC’s Desktop range boasts fast print times and is suitable for various markets, including medical, dental, consumer goods and manufacturing.

EnvisionTEC Desktop Family

EnvisionTEC’s Desktop family uses exclusive Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology. An alternative to stereolithography (SLA), DLP has been proven to achieve a higher part accuracy percentage than SLA in certain tests. Tests conducted by EnvisionTEC, published in 2016, found that dental parts printed with DLP were in cases over 25 per cent more accurate than those printed with SLA, by comparable 3D printers.


The EnvisionTEC Desktop family includes the Vida, Vida Hi-Res, Aureus Plus, Apollo Plus and Desktop XL Plus 3D printers. These 3D printers vary in their build volume and accuracy. The Vida, for instance, has a 140 x 79 x 100 mm (5.5 x 3.1 x 3.95 in.) build volume while the Vida Hi Res has a 120 x 74 x 85 mm (4.72 x 2.95 x 3.35 in.) build volume. These machines also vary in layer resolution, with accuracy levels down to 30 microns.


All 3D printers in the Desktop family have Ethernet, and the Vida and Vida Hi Res have a touchscreen interface. All models come with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. They are easy to setup and use, and there are few consumable components.
