MakerBot

MakerBot 3D printers are renowned for their ease of use and consistent performance. The current range includes the MakerBot Replicator, Replicator Mini and Replicator Z18 with each model boasting cloud connectivity, an on-board camera and app control through Wi-Fi.

The MakerBot Replicator Mini is the cheapest printer in the range. This is a compact desktop 3D printer with a 100 x 100 x 125 mm build volume and a 200 micron layer resolution. It is ideally suited to offices and smaller environments. The Replicator is a step up from the Mini with a 252 x 199 x 150 mm build volume and 100 micron layer resolution. The Replicator Z18 is the flagship, with an enormous 305 x 305 x 457 mm build volume and a 100 micron layer resolution. This model is ideally suited to engineering environments.

All MakerBot 3D printers print through a fused filament fabrication (FFF) process. Parts printed with the Replicator or Replicator Z18 at 100 micron have exceptional detail with the printers themselves offering excellent reliability. MakerBot also recently launched the Smart Extruder+ upgrade for the MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation 3D Printer, which boosts reliability even further - this extruder can live beyond 160,000 hours of printing!

We recommend MakerBot printers to professional and educational environments first and foremost, due to their lower than average purchase cost and good reliability record. Thanks to their ease of use and connected features, however, they will actually fit in anywhere.
