The HP Jet Fusion 580 Colour 3D Printer enables you to print full colour, engineering-grade, functional parts fast. Print hundreds of parts per week with fine details and high dimensional accuracy.
Want to accelerate creation, create more and produce functional prototypes and end-use parts - all in full colour?
Do it with the HP Jet Fusion 580.
The Jet Fusion 580 is a gamechanger for additive manufacturing. It prints thermoplastic in full-colour utilising Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology, which uses two perpendicular carriages to transform powdered plastic into solid parts.
Colour permeation is 100% through parts, so if you cut them in half, you see a consistent colour throughout. This is achieved using up to eight chemical agents at a time, with these agents also controlling texture, density and translucency.
The Jet Fusion 580 also has manual voxel control, which enables you to control the physical properties of each voxel - or individual bits of powder - for enhanced control over part strength, appearance, and feature detail.
Parts fabricated using the Jet Fusion 580 do not need supports because printed parts are self-supporting. You can achieve fine detail and high dimensional accuracy for small features with minimal effort. The 580 delivers assured, repeatable results, time after time, with huge uptime and a high level of automation.
Enhanced workflow
The 580 integrates material mixing and loading, printing, and material reclamation, to minimise workflow and speed up production capability.
Its build volume is a generous 332 x 190 x 248 mm (13.1 x 7.5 x 9.8 inches) and it can print at speeds up to 1,817 cm3 /hr (111 in3 /hr). HP quotes a full build job time for a 248-mm (9.8-in) buildable height of 20-hours.
The reality is the HP Jet Fusion 580 is capable of producing up to 100 parts a week with optimised workflow. Workflow is made easier with HP SmartStream 3D Build Manager and HP SmartStream 3D Command Center.
With the ability to produce functional parts in full colour, or black or white, in a fraction of the time of most FDM and SLA 3D printers, the Jet Fusion 580 makes industrial prototyping and final part production easier than ever.
HP’s 3D printable powders are also non-hazardous and the printer itself has filters to minimise emissions. Universities, design and development labs, and engineering teams are prime candidates for this remarkable machine.
What People Say
“HP has the potential to revolutionize 3D printing. With its new technology, everybody will win. Shapeways can offer it to the community, and the community can make amazing products.”
Peter Weijmarshausen, CEO, Shapeways
“The new technology looks like a truly exciting leap ahead in industrial-grade 3D printing. We at Proto Labs look forward to collaborating with HP to advance this new platform that could result in significantly higher productivity, improved part quality, and lower cost.”
Rob Connelly, Vice President of Additive Manufacturing, Proto Labs
“HP put a lot of work into material handling. They found the best way to do it. You can wheel the build unit directly into the printer. It's smart. It knows what material, what blend or ratio you mixed it at, and when you did it.”
John Buffington
