Leapfrog MAXX PRO Carbon is a high-performance engineering plastic with outstanding resistance to wear and tear and common greases, oils and lubricants. It is a PET-G composite, with 20 per cent chopped carbon fibre for unparalleled robustness. Applications for MAXX PRO Hybrid include automotive parts and prototypes, engineering concepts and the production of mechanical, end-use parts.
PET-G, the material Carbon is based on, is a strong, weatherproof and recyclable material that’s used to manufacture durable parts. By adding chopped carbon fibre to it to create MAXX PRO Carbon, Leapfrog has spawned one of the most durable and hardy 3D printing materials on the market, let alone in the Leapfrog range; MAXX PRO Carbon offers twice the resistance to heat and impact of PET-G, and practically eliminates warping.
Because it has chopped carbon fibre embedded within it, MAXX PRO Carbon is abrasive so it will wear down brass nozzles quickly. MAXX PRO Carbon has an extrusion temperature of 240-250 °C and the bed needs to be at a temperature of 80 °C. It is compatible and supported by the Leapfrog Bolt, Creatr HS and Creatr HS XL 3D printers.
