The EnvisionTEC Vida is an advanced desktop 3D printer that’s ideally suited to the dental and orthodontic market. Utilising advanced Direct Light Projection (DLP) technology from Texas Instruments, the Vida is suitable for 3D printing surgical guides, retainers, aligners and crowns and bridges. Models printed with the EnvisionTEC Vida have outstanding detail, and crucially, they are completely smooth with no ‘stair-stepping’.
Outstanding Print Accuracy and Quality
With a high-resolution projector running at 1920 x 1080 pixels and advanced UV optics, the EnvisionTEC Vida 3D printer makes true-to-design models every time. It boasts an XY resolution of 73 µm (0.0029 in.) and a Z resolution of 25 to 150 µm (0.001 to 0.006 in.), to capture the finest detail, and there are a wide range of specialist resins available, to satisfy all dental and orthodontic manufacturing requirements.
The Vida is also one of few 3D printers on the market that can 3D print parts without stair-stepping, which is when there’s visible layer lines on the surface of models. An advanced version of Direct Light Projection technology is utilised to cure large amounts of resin at the same time. This means that there are no signs of stair-stepping on models, so printed orthodontic models will be of a showcase quality fresh from the print bed.
Impressive Range of Materials
Of course, a 3D printer is only as good as the materials it can print, and to this end the EnvisionTEC Vida offers plenty. The list of supported materials includes E-Guard, E-Partial, Clear Guide M, E-Appliance M, E-Dentstone M Peach, E-Dent 100 M, Ortho Tough M, E-Mode, E-Dent 400, E-Gum and E-Model Flex Series. These materials are all manufactured by EnvisionTEC, to satisfy a wide range of dental manufacturing requirements.
The Vida is also exceptionally easy to use. It has Ethernet and USB connectivity, and it can run independently without the need for a continuous connection. You control the 3D printer through a touchscreen interface, through which you can select from a variety of pre-programmed settings and select which filament you are using.
