Ultimaker Nylon Filament Black (750g)

Ultimaker Nylon filament offers unparalleled impact and abrasion resistance, with the ability to withstand significant mechanical stress. It is stronger and more durable than ABS, with several times the abrasion resistance of functional plastic resins. It is one of the most reliable and consistent filaments on the market, and for Ultimaker users, offers outstanding durability; this makes it the go-to filament for end-use parts.

Available and Black and Transparent, Ultimaker Nylon offers industrial-grade impact and abrasion resistance and a very high strength-to-weight ratio. Nylon is used by engineers worldwide to manufacture parts for everything from toys to aerospace components. It is trusted to perform a job, because it has a high melting temperature of 185 - 195 ˚C, and one of the highest mechanical strength properties of any filament. Ultimaker’s version has been specially formulated to work with the Ultimaker 2 and Ultimaker 2+ series.

We recommend Ultimaker nylon for functional prototypes and end-use parts for mechanical assemblies. Nylon is highly resistant to chemicals, greases and lubricants, and Ultimaker’s version absorbs less moisture compared to other nylon filaments. Add to that a high strength-to-weight ratio and a low friction coefficient, and what you have is the ultimate 3D printing material for parts that will be subjected to significant stress.

    Ultimaker

Founded in 2011, Netherlands-based 3D printer manufacturer Ultimaker is one of the main players in the desktop 3D printer market. Ultimaker 3D printers all utilise fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology with the company committed to being open source.

Ultimaker started selling 3D printers in May 2011. Their first printer, the “Ultimaker”, paved the way for all other models that succeeded it. Ultimaker’s current range of desktop-class 3D printers includes the Ultimaker Original+, Ultimaker 2 Go, Ultimaker 2+ and Ultimaker 2 Extended+. The Ultimaker Original+ is a DIY kit for makers who want to hack and tweak their 3D printer. All other models in the Ultimaker range come fully preassembled, ready to be used in engineering, design and educational environments.

Ultimaker is committed to being an open source vendor. One can download and access each printer’s documentation and source files once they become available. This has enabled Ultimaker to innovate and update their line of printers over the years, and their community has had a significant input into the new features that have found their way into Ultimaker’s new 3D printers. For example, the swappable nozzle system and geared feeder motor found in the 2016 ‘Plus’ range of 3D printers are so because of user and community feedback.
