Leapfrog MAXX PRO PLA is a high-performance, biodegradable polylactide filament that’s compatible with all Leapfrog 3D printers, including the Bolt and Creatr HS series. PRO PLA is available in a wide variety of colours, to suit limitless applications.
MAXX PRO PLA is an enhanced version of Leapfrog MAXX ESSENTIALS PLA. It has been reformulated to reduce the chance of splitting between layers - something which affects around 2 in 10 PLA parts as they cool down. The MAXX PRO PLA range also has more intense colours over the MAXX ESSENTIALS range; the colours are brighter and more vibrant.
MAXX PRO PLA Printing
Being made from corn, MAXX PRO PLA gives off a sweet aroma when heated and offers faster printing speeds than ABS, thanks to its lower melting point.
Parts printed with MAXX PRO PLA are extremely smooth and well-finished. They can also be sprayed with acetone vapour post-print, to give them a polished appearance.
Because MAXX PRO PLA has been formulated to reduce splitting and warping, you don’t need a dedicated support material, as you might need with ABS. Because of this, we recommend the PRO PLA range for all complex parts and consumer-facing assemblies where an ideal finish is required. For prototypes, the cheaper ESSENTIALS PLA can be used.
