The EnvisionTEC Desktop XL Plus offers an unbeatable performance to price ratio, with an enlarged build volume and exclusive Direct Light Processing technology from Texas Instruments. Suitable for 3D printing consumer goods, medical devices and general manufacturing, the Desktop XL Plus supports a wide range of proprietary resins that allow you to manufacture everything from robust, end-use parts to verification models.
Enlarged Build Volume
With a 100 x 75 x 80 mm (3.94 x 2.95 x 3.15 in.) build volume, the Desktop XL Plus offers 36.6 cubic inches of build area which is more than the Aureus Plus and Apollo Plus 3D printers, which are designed for the jewellery industry. With the Desktop XL Plus, you can 3D print with a wider range of materials for different applications.
Direct Light Processing technology really excels at 3D printing geometrically complex models. DLP cures large amounts of resin per exposure, as opposed to one layer at a time as with SLA. This eliminates stair-stepping (visible layer lines), resulting in perfectly smooth models every time. It also results in faster print speeds than SLA, depending on the material used, so the Desktop XL Plus is a great option for high-volume manufacturers.
3D Print End-Use Parts and Verification Models
The Desktop XL Plus supports a wider range of materials than any comparable Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printer. There are fifteen supported resins, each with their own purpose. There’s ABS-Tuff which mimics production-grade ABS, E-Tool for quick 3D moulds, LS600 for extremely durable parts and WIC100G for casting models.
The EnvisionTEC Desktop XL Plus is easy to setup and use. It has a touchscreen control panel and you send files to print over USB or Ethernet. Changeover between materials is quick and easy too. It’s just a case of cleaning the tank and swapping the resin. 24-hour production is also possible, because the Desktop XL Plus can run unattended by itself until the resin tank needs topping up. All you do is queue your designs, and the printer will take care of the rest.
