Zortrax Z-GLASS is a semi-transparent filament that’s resistant to many common chemicals, oils, greases and lubricants. Being a thermoplastic copolyester, Z-GLASS is actually mixed with glass fibre, although once printed it is much more resistant to impacts than glass, with excellent elasticity and strength properties. It is ideally suited to prototyping and for printing end-use parts. Fresh from the print bed, parts look great. They are glossy and translucent.
Z-GLASS 2kg Reel
The product for sale on this page is a 2kg reel of Zortrax Z-GLASS. This product is compatible with the new Zortrax M300. We recommend the larger 2kg reel for the M300, because you will be 3D printing much larger parts with this machine, so you’ll need more material. It’s exceptionally easy to print with too; simply select the ‘Z-GLASS’ profile from within Z-SUITE, and the M300 will take care of the rest. You’ll be up and running in a matter of minutes. And best of all, Z-GLASS does not require a support material and it won’t warp.
Applications for Z-GLASS include concept models that need to imitate glass or translucent plastic, functional prototypes of translucent objects, translucent decorations, and functional parts that are required to be resistant to common chemicals and oils.
Founded in 2013, Poland-based 3D printer manufacturer Zortrax boast some of the most popular fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printers on the market.
Zortrax printers are trusted high-performance machines, with the Zortrax brand known the world over for the quality of their hardware and their unique filaments, which are proprietary but offer limitless applications beyond regular ABS and PLA.
Zortrax 3D printers are used within automotive, architecture, engineering and medicine, where the need for good dimensional accuracy and consistency is high. The current range of 3D printers from Zortrax include the M200 and the Inventure. The M200 offers a spacious 200 x 200 x 180 mm build volume with a resolution of 90-400 microns. The Inventure offers the same layer resolution, but a smaller build volume of 140 x 140 x 140 mm.
The Zortrax ecosystem is one of the most special of any, and testament to this is the amazing range of material options. For the M200, Zortrax has developed no less than six unique filaments to cover applications where cost, elasticity, strength, durability, transparency and quality is of paramount importance. All Zortrax printers offer low operating costs and come in at a reasonable price, making them among the best in terms of return on investment.
