We are the 3D printing arm of a larger company called Express Group Ltd. Fixing printers since 1988, today we are a Specialist Parts Distributor and Experts in 3D Printing.
We take quality control very seriously, which is why we are audited for ISO9001:2015 certification, this helps ensure we provide great customer service.
Formlabs created the world’s first affordable, high resolution stereolithography 3D printer in the Form 1+ and they improved upon their award-winning machine with the Form 2. With an intuitive, stylish and robust design, all Formlabs printers are perfect for rapid prototyping and end-use parts. Formlabs’ Durable Resin 3D is a high-performance 3D printing material that’s been formulated to be used in manufacturing and design applications. It prints clean and smooth, with a finish comparable to that of a high-quality ABS, and printed models have outstanding stiffness and durability, comparable to polypropylene (PP) plastic.
Because it is resilient and fatigue resistant, Durable is the ideal material for 3D printing parts for consumer-facing assemblies, and for prototyping consumer products. Products and parts printed with Durable are strong, stiff and durable, with excellent impact and abrasion resistance. Durable is also resistant to common chemicals, including oils and greases, so it can be used to create durable and robust packaging prototypes for liquids.
Durable is not as resilient as Tough Resin, however, and it is not suitable for high-friction and high-wear parts, although it can be used to create living hinges.
Durable Resin is supplied as a cartridge for the Formlabs Form 2 3D printer. This cartridge integrates into the printer, where the Form 2 will monitor it and automatically fill the resin tank when it detects resin levels are getting low.
To find out more about Durable Resin or any other Formlabs’ engineering resins, you can email your questions to our team at email@example.com or call us on 01765 540 115.
Founded in 2011, Massachusetts-based 3D printer manufacturer Formlabs are one of the leaders in the desktop-class stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer market.
Since being founded, Formlabs has invested considerably in research and development to create and manufacture what is without doubt one of the finest SLA desktop 3D printers on the market - the Formlabs Form 2.
Utilising stereolithography as opposed to the better-known fused filament fabrication 3D printing process, you can print high-resolution models that you wouldn’t necessarily be able to with an FFF 3D printer. This reality has put the Formlabs Form series of 3D printers in engineering, design, research, medical, dentistry, art and many other industries that require consistent, high resolution parts and models.
Although the Form 2 is Formlabs’ latest 3D printer, they still manufacture its predecessor the Form 1+ which was announced in 2014. The Form 1+ has a 40 per cent smaller build volume than the Form 2 and it is slower and less precise. For this reason, the Form 2 is the best option for any application, and we recommend this model first and foremost. The gulf in class between the 1+ and 2 offers a tantalising glimpse into the future for Formlabs, though, with future Formlabs 3D printers expected to be even faster and more accurate.
