3DGence Flexfill 98A is a flexible TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) 3D printing filament which is very similar to hard rubber. In fact, ‘98A’ refers to the material’s hardness which is the same hardness as natural hard rubber.
Potential applications include drive belts, tyres, gaskets, o rings, seals, plugs, washers, as well as hinges, lids, vibration dampers, soft feet and toys. Flexfill is protective, waterproof and relatively easy to print and work with.
In addition to its rubbery feel and appearance, 3DGence Flexfill 98A is highly resistant to greases, oils and solvents, making it a good choice for mechanical environments. Workshops can safely use this material without special precaution.
The filament itself is made by Fillamentum and is available in a variety of colours. It’s compatible with the 3DGence INDUSTRY F340 in combination with the Pro module only. To print Flexfill, set the extruder temperature to 220 - 240°C and the bed temp to 50 - 60°C.
Overall, this material is highly useful, capable of being used to make solid rubbery parts or as a protective soft outer layer on harder materials. Use it in your 3D printing setup to make flexible parts with high impact resistance.
