We are the 3D printing arm of a larger company called Express Group Ltd. Fixing printers since 1988, today we are a Specialist Parts Distributor and Experts in 3D Printing.
We take quality control very seriously, which is why we are audited for ISO9001:2015 certification, this helps ensure we provide great customer service.
3D Platform doesn’t do small. Their only 3D printer the 3DP1000 has a 74x bigger build area than a standard desktop 3D printer and so naturally, you’re going to need a lot of filament to realise the rapid prototyping potential that this machine affords. So we’ve hand-picked some for you – check out our range of stunning 3D Platform supplies below, and if you can’t find what you’re after, ask a member of our team to give you a hand.
3D Platform printers have an open filament system capable of supporting a wide range of high quality, third party filaments and consumables.
Both the 3DP1000 and 3DP Workbench can print ABS, PC-ABS, HIPS, PLA, PLA/PHA, PVA and nylon. The sheer size of these 3D printers requires one to buy 3D Platform filament in larger spool sizes or 3DP filament in bulk. We recommend ColorFabb filament first and foremost for 3D Platform machines, simply because they are of an exceptional quality.
A 2.2kg spool of PLA/PHA will print approximately 800 chess sets or 1000 toy cars and all for well under £100. In addition to filaments, 3D Systems consumables include build plate tapes for maximum adhesion to the build plate. Though surface adhesion can be attained by using beer (yes, beer!), tape is a less messy solution and arguably a cheaper one too.
