MarkForged Consumables

Markforged’s range of consumables allow you to 3D print parts that are as strong as 6061 aluminium - and to also get the most from your Mark One or Mark Two. Choose from Carbon Fibre CFF, Kevlar CFF and Fibreglass CFF materials to reinforce nylon parts, or go for ‘Onyx’ which is a new material for consumer-facing assemblies. You can also buy your official Markforged nozzle sets and build plates right here at GoPrint3D.

MarkForged Consumables

The Markforged Mark Two is one of the best 3D printers in the world for manufacturing tough and durable end-use parts and prototypes. With it, you can print parts with a stiffness equal to or greater than any thermoplastic available for professional 3D printers. The core print material is nylon, which itself is a hardy material, but the Mark Two goes one step further by allowing you to reinforce nylon parts with continuous strands of a composite material. These include fibreglass, Kevlar and carbon fibre.

Parts reinforced with a composite are as strong as 6061 aluminium.

To showcase the strength and rigidity of parts, Markforged subjected a 3D-printed chain link to over 20,000 lbf of force in a YouTube video. The carbon fibre chain link finally gave way at a staggering 22,000 lbf – way beyond that of any traditional 3D printing material!

The greatest thing about the Mark Two though is that you have several choices when it comes to manufacturing parts. Fibreglass has the best strength-to-cost ratio, carbon fibre has the highest strength-to-weight ratio and Kevlar has the best abrasion and impact resistance. So the Mark Two can be used to manufacture a huge range of mechanical parts, and we have personally seen it replace CNC and milling operations.
